Olympic Nails

Hey, guys! So the Olympics started on Friday, and it's time to celebrate that with some Olympic-themed nails. This design is easy, fun, and sure to draw attention. Keep reading to learn how to celebrate your country and the Olympics with pride!

You will need:
- Base coat
- White polish
- blue polish
- yellow polish
- black polish
- green polish
- red polish
- nail striper brush
- gold polish
- top coat

As usual, start of with a base coat. Next, paint your ring fingers and thumbs solid white, and the rest of your fingers with white french tips.

Sally Hansen - Timeless White

Now, place a small drop of the blue polish on a piece of paper. Dip the tip of the striper brush into it and use it to make a line on the nail, as shown. Do this for all french-tipped nails.

Sally Hansen - Blue Me Away!

Repeat this with all five colors. Start each color from the same point and spread it out at the end, to get a fan-like look.
This design is meant to represent the colors of the five Olympic Rings.

Yellow: Sally Hansen - Lightening
Black: Sally Hansen - Black Heart
Green: Essie - Mojito Madness
Red: OPI - Cajun Shrimp

Now you'll move to the fully painted nails. Use the blue polish to make a  V-shape on the nail. You can do this with the actual brush or with a toothpick/striper if you feel like it. Then Take the gold polish and make a small semicircle on the tip of the nail, like shown. This is how you'll achieve the look of the Olympic gold medals.

Summer Dragonflies

Today I'll be showing you how to easily recreate a common sighting on a summer evening- the dragonfly. It's placed over a sunset above water. I hope you like it!

You will need:
- Base Coat
- Makeup sponge
- Pink polish
- Yellow polish
- Orange polish
- Red polish
- blue polish
- black polish
- dotting tool
- various-sized beads

Paint your nails with a base coat and cover that with one coat of pink. It doesn't have to be perfect because most of it will be covered by the other colors. Sponge on the yellow polish, leaving only a small portion of pink showing near the base of the nail.

OPI - Sparrow Me the Drama; Sally Hansen - Lightening

Now sponge on the orange polish, leaving a little of the yellow showing.

Sally Hansen - Sun Kissed

Repeat the process with the red polish.

OPI - Cajun Shrimp

Use a dotting tool to paint on the blue polish, making it in the shape of waves.

Sally Hansen - Blue Me Away!

Use your dotting tool and the black polish to create the dragonfly's wings.

Sally Hansen - Black Heart

Place a drop of top coat in the middle of the wings and  place the larger bead.

Use one smaller bead for the head and two for the body, using the top coat to act as the glue again.

And there you have it! Just cover with a top coat to protect the design. The beads will easily come off when soaked in acetone.
I hope you enjoyed this designs! Please leave your comments below and on Facebook!

Watermelons

Hello all! This week I'm posting a tutorial for a very summer-inspired design that will teach you how to decorate your nails with mouth-watering watermelon slices. Enjoy!

You will need:
- Base coat
- Red polish
- dark green polish
- black polish
- dotting tool
- light green polish
- top coat

As usual, paint your nails with your favorite base coat. Next, use the red polish to cover your nails with two solid coats.

OPI - Cajun Shrimp

Next, paint the tips of your nails with the darker green polish. You can do this freehand or use tape.

Essie - Mojito Madness

Use the black polish and a dotting tool to draw on the watermelon seeds. This can also be done with a black striper.

Sally Hansen - Black Heart

Using the edge of a makeup sponge, dab on the light green nail polish onto the tips of the nails in stripes (like in the picture). This is a subtle step that really adds to the design.

Essie - Navigate Her

And there you have it! Cover with a top coat to protect your design.
